Chakki and Lord Krishna

Chakki is a strong devotee of Lord Krishna. She visits Krishna temples regularly, prays to Krishna for fullfilling her dreams. Just like the old saint Meera Bai, Chakki is somewhat "addicted" to Krishna. Beleive me, you can see lot of Krishna idols and wallframes and pictures in Chakki's home. She visits Guruvayoor temple occassionally and prays there.

Whenever you talk with her, if you tell anything that is shocking, thrilling or astonishing, then Chakki will begin her words with- "Krishna..." or the typical mallu sentence "Ente guruvayoorappa..". I have noticed this many times. I think she herself imagines as a Meera.

Once upon a time, she shared about her interest with music. One of the ring tones that was set in her mobile phone was the classical song starting with "Krishna Ni Begane Baro...". It is one of her favorite ring tones and she keeps it in her mobile phone undeleted forever. Krishna Ni Begane Baro (krishnaa nee bEganE baarO) is a famous classical song in Kannada Language. It is composed in Yamunaa KalyaaNi Raaga by Vyasaraya Tirtha. The Taalam is Chapu.

Lyrics:

The text of the lyric of the song has several versions with minor changes in the words. This happened because many of the Carnatic musicians who propagated the song did not have knowledge of Kannada. A popular version of this famous Kriti of Vyasaraya is given here.
